When the deluge hit San Francisco back in March, taking mass transit reminded me of all those days at school hanging on a wet corner waiting for the bus. At least the school bus actually showed up on time. Grrr.
Oh yeah, in case you couldn't tell, I colored this sucker in Illustrator just to mix things up a bit. Maybe next post I'll draw something that doesn't involve a dude with a circle head. Given that the next sketchcrawl is this weekend, that is highly likely.
So I initially drew this for the Wolverine Jam over on Drawingboard.org, but thought I'd toss it up here as well. If you haven't seen the movie Red Dawn this probably seems like it's coming right out of left field. Actually, even if you have seen the movie this is still kinda random.
So I started drawing this as a "Dance" image for Illustration Friday and decided it would make a good animation cycle. Pay no mind to the gentleman's infinite supply of munitions. Perhaps he has magic guns, magic guns of infinite shooty-ness. Alright, I'm gonna go grab me one of the chocolate covered macaroons at the bagel shop on the corner. They're like giant chewy fresh baked Samoa Girl Scout Cookies. Hot damn, I'd dance like that kid just to get one, but instead I think I will just trade some legal tender for it. Catch you folks later.
Hello blog-a-majig. Today I pay tribute to the jungle critter with the most rockin-est facial hair, the Emperor Tamarin. And by "pay tribute to" I mean "crap out a hasty picture of." I'd write something witty here but my tummy desires foodstuffs so I'm gonna go get one of those "screw it, put everything in a damn bowl" meals at KFC. Hooray for Illustration Friday and the "Jungle" theme.
So this is my Illustration Friday "Portrait" of Patrick McGoohan as The Prisoner. My lack of being born prevented me from catching this show when it originally aired, but thanks to the magic of DVD (and the San Francisco Public Library) I've been able to see it. My favorite thing about the character might be that his face seems permanently stuck giving a disapproving people's eyebrow, an expression I tend to make quite frequently myself. Next on my list of old TV shows to catch is The Rockford Files.
It used to be I'd only use the tablet for inking and coloring, but now I find myself doing more straight up sketching and *gasp* animating with it. This weekend I was sketching with said tablet and listening to one of my friend Jeremy's songs. The product of this activity is the quick and dirty cycle of him playing a tambourine featured above.
This blog looks naked, it needs to be made un-naked by having more gunk'l'dunk added. I've got the Atom feed up with the sweet powder blue feed button down at the bottom, but other than that the frill-age is still minimal. Anyway, to keep some posting momentum up I'm tossing up this samurai picture I drew last night when I should have been sleeping. That's what I get for eating chocolate espresso cookies before bed I guess.
