For me, Gary Mello is the example of what both a father and husband should strive to be. I can think of no better person to be the subject of my "Homage" image for Illustration Friday. Unfortunately, he's in the hospital right now fighting some pretty advanced kidney cancer.

24hr Comic Day

So 24hr comic day was Saturday and, despite swearing I'd never do it again after last year, I gave it another shot. I'm glad I reconsidered because I had an awesome time making some marathon comics with Danny, Paul, and our lovely hostesses Tiffany and Chandra. If you're at all interested in reading the spoils of our labor I'd redirect you over to Danny's Forum where he generoulsy posted photo documentation and scans of all three of our books.

Knocking One Back

So this is my "Sticky" picture for Illustration Friday, but the more I look at it the more I want to redo the coloring on it. I've got plenty of other stuff I need to tend to before that happens, so hopefully some of these skecthcrawl drawings from this weekend will redeem me.

Rain

When the deluge hit San Francisco back in March, taking mass transit reminded me of all those days at school hanging on a wet corner waiting for the bus. At least the school bus actually showed up on time. Grrr.

Oh yeah, in case you couldn't tell, I colored this sucker in Illustrator just to mix things up a bit. Maybe next post I'll draw something that doesn't involve a dude with a circle head. Given that the next sketchcrawl is this weekend, that is highly likely.
